The amazing art of MJ Lai (Mrs. Tokutake)

i do love the idea of a pot with comic decoration, especially if it’s a 1 frame. could even put two comics on opposite sides of one of those rectangle “frame pots” (not sure what that motif is called, but i’m sure you or nao do)

I’m afraid if I paint the enterprise I’ll never be off the hook with you if it didn’t have the correct number of windows. 🤔

Nah, do an away team on an alien planet with weird plants

I finally had ten minutes to take photos of my pbe takehomes for someone that asked, if any of you are interested let me know and I can send better photos. And I made some taiyaki.

I havent painted since the show, just taking a break, and my hand pain was pretty severe. Good news the doctor says my de quervains (mommys thumb) is gone, not so good I have arthritis in my right wrist I suspect from carrying the baby improperly after the first physical therapy place gave me some well meaning advice that I poorly applied.

He also said Im not allowed to holds pots to paint anymore. It is simply too much strain, so if anyone can recommend an articulating vice (like a third hand but can hold pottery) and be quickly adjusted I will be eternally grateful.

Happy Holidays!!

I am still interested in the Picachu pot. How Much is it, please?

I"d be delighted to send this one to you as a gift. It is pretty much the same as shown above. It holds the object with three point contact fastened with a thumb screw lever. You can also 'orbit' the work piece with the spherical ball thumb screw. It is heavy (weighs about 3#) It is made for a machinist to hold fast a piece of metal. I imagine you can fasten some neoprene hose or such onto the pointed settings such as to not scratch or damage the pot.

I’m curious about the dimensions on those two red Great Wave pots.

I wonder if a simpler solution is feasible. One of those small shohin workstands from Japan and some museum wax or maybe rubber bands to affix the pots. That way you could angle the piece and easily remove and adjust the pot.
