Given bark and flower color, I'm going to guess 'Natchez'.
Thank you Michael! Not too familiar with varieties - that’s a big help.

Agreed. We have several Natchez Whites in our yard, and their bark is striking. They are also among the larger, faster-growing CM.Given bark and flower color, I'm going to guess 'Natchez'.
@markyscott Do you know who is the maker of that pot? Is it a nursery pot?New tree on the benches. Unclear what variety it is, but the flower color is pink and the bark exfoliates heavily, leaving a beautiful blotchy coloration on the trunk.

Someone needs to remind me to stop buying such big trees. The box I‘m repotting it is is on the back bench.

Now that makes more sense. I never saw a nursery pot with those dimensions before. It looks like a perfect reducing pot, that's why i asked.Hi P -
The plastic pot was just a modified nursery pot I think. Probably a standard 28 gallon pot. The middle bit was cut out and the top and bottom were riveted together. The wood pot was all custom, lol.

I would guess so. This one was pretty much a cutting. Are crape myrtles easy to air layer?
Nice.
why fungicide?Spring cut back. This is something I did in fall when I was living in the land of perpetual summer. Here I‘m waiting until late winter/early spring. Then do the soji (cleanup and replace the topsoil) unless I’m repotting, apply systemic fungicide (I use Clearys 3336), moss the top soil (I‘ve taken to using a mix of sphagnum and broken up live moss), apply fertilizer cakes (I use Osmocote + on things I’m growing out, Gro-Power on things in late development/early refinement) and bags of Microlife on things in late development). I may put some wire on this tree as well.

I treat my trees with a broad spectrum systemic in the early spring. Crape Myrtle, for instance, are susceptible to powdery mildew. A systematic in spring might help avoid spraying stronger stuff later in the season after it’s become a problem.why fungicide?
I'll guess powdery mildew, and I just want alerts on this thread..why fungicide?
Love the fluting and wrinkles on the nebari!Spring colors. View attachment 484377
