Teach me how to Fish. Azalea

@Michigan Tree Murderer , have you put your order in yet? I’m curious what shipping looks like. @Carol 83 , maybe you can chime in? I’m just trying to figure how many plants I can fit into my budget before I call. Does anyone know if they charge per plant or per 6 pack of plants? I guess I could just call and find out as well. 😅
the order form explains how the shipping cost is handled. Price from what I understand is $10 per plant, and a crating charge. And no I haven't mailed my order in yet. Real life keeps getting in the way lately.

I defer all questions and advice to someone who's actually done business with them as I have not. :)

Hmm…. Never ever filled out any forms in the past four years. Just called Jim or Tom, figured out the types available, and made my order. A week or two later the big box shows up!

Try it, you’ll like it 😉

Cheers and Good Shopping!

Yeah, I read over that page on the form a couple times and it still wasn’t clear. The crating charge appears to be a packing charge and is dependent on the total cost of your order and the actual shipping charge I guess will be shared after your order is assembled. I didn’t see anything about a $10 per plant charge but I could have missed it.

The current version of the order form says, $8 but Carol mentioned that she called and the price is $10 this year.

I'm pretty sure they also know you by first name so you can get a telephone order.

I'll call and act clueless and see if they box up my order.

PS I'm not acting. :)

The azaleas are $10, the crating charge is explained on the order form. They send you a bill for the shipping after they send it, they use UPS. They can fit 8 in a box without nursery pots, 6 with pots. Last year mine came that way and I had to scurry to find pots. This year I requested them in nursery pots. Last year shipping for 6 was $30 but Jim warned me shipping prices had gone up. I'll let you know, mine shipped yesterday. Not so great since we have lows this weekend in the teens...

The catalog is old, I called for the cost this year.

Thanks so much for the information! So the plants themselves are $10, not the shipping charge, and to be clear, you pay for the plants and the crating fee up front and then the shipping after the plants are on their way. That seems very trusting of them but I guess if you stiffed them on shipping you could never order from them again.

Also fingers crossed for your plants… may they be warm and cozy in the bosom of our parcel handlers.

🤞🤞🤞

Sounds like you got it right.

Gosh, I’ve never paid for anything upfront with Nuccios…? Just like @Carol 83 says, they’ll send you a bill in the mail. Usually comes within a day. I pay asap to stay in their good graces. 😉

Now I'm confused because I thought I was supposed to send a check for the initial purchase, and then Nuccios would bill me for the shipping cost. o_O

Hmm. I have always paid for the plants and crating charge with a check and my order info, then they send me a bill for the shipping later. Maybe since they know you to be a trusted customer you get special treatment? Details, details, I'm sure a quick call to them will straighten it out for those wishing to order from them for the first time.

I called today and spoke to Tom. I asked him if the ones I'm ordering are in stock and he was really friendly and helpful. So, I'm mailing in my order form today. :)

No special order over the phone treatment for me. ;)
Did they have all the ones you wanted? There are 2 on your list I want as well (but I was waiting for you to order first as requested 😉). I’m hoping to get an order in and maybe delay shipment a little bit… still pretty brisk up here in Maine as well.

Which two?

The order is fluid and did change to the above, and yes the above is currently in stock. Crossed off a couple that Tom mentioned they no longer have/carry. He also said that if they're not in stock when the order is received they'll call for replacement or refund. My weather currently sucks, but with the snail mail ordering system and the ability for them to delay the order I decided to get my order in before April as recommend for my area.
