Oh.
This makes more sense.
I thought it was that autonomous cycle in the Progressive ads. 🤪

So we are waiting for a massive storm system to hit. It has made for some interesting sky tonight but if it hits like they say then we will get a years worth of rain in the next 48 hours. It's a bit scary, here they call it a Gota Fria or Cold Drop. Also some models are predicting the formation of a medicane which is basically an hurricane that forms in the Med sea and all of it is expected to land on top of us. There could be loads of flooding and loss of life, all the schools are closed and even the wife's work have said not to travel. Our location is elevated so we should be fine but as no tradesmen in Spain work in August or bother to respond to you when contacted we haven't had our roof fixed so am massively worried that a section of our roof may collapse into the lounge room.
Still at this point there is nothing that can be done other than sit back and enjoy the show with a beer in hand, that's my plan.

Either way some nice pics.
The last one was was taken yesterday of a solar halo and sundog, the other all this evening.

Be safe, hopefully all of that nasty weather will miss you.

Thanks, I hope it will miss. We will hunker down and keep the kids busy, if power and internet stays on that is a bonus. Made sure we have food, water, dog food and adult beverages so that much is fine.
If the wind gets too much I can bring my trees in if have to but otherwise the rain is probably good for them.

We are right in the middle of the red not far from the coast.

I've only seen one of those complete sun halos in my life. Couldn't quite believe my eyes at first. Really nice pics Starfox.

Wow good luck over there! Can you put some sort of plastic sheet on your roof? Nothing long term but it might redirect the worst of the rain...
other than that I guess just stay out of the lounge 😥

Not really as it is a large, flat terrace part of the roof and it manages to gather all the run off from the sloped sections as well.
And in another piece of genius engineering there is absolutely no drainage or area where that water can run off. At this point it's just fingers crossed and if anything happens then insurance should cover it. They at least may be able to get someone to return their calls.

So I got a load of lightning shots, I'll process the rest tomorrow as it is late here now and really need some sleep.

It has been a mess here, massive flooding, at least 2 dead, 2 tornados that I know of and the same expected while we are asleep and tomorrow. For now, touch wood, we are ok but there are many who aren't. From what I'm seeing online it's not good at all.

Still, cool pics I think.
