Some type of Ficus... question.

This is basically what you'll end up doing if you do it right. Create a super fat, and short tree.

So, uhh, you got any of those for sale Seth? Asking for a friend....

the greenhouse.
tropicals do go dormant, not the same way a deciduous tree does, but their growth and sap flow does slow down considerably. and because they are cold sensitive, and not growing this time of year (without a greenhouse environment) they are much weaker and do not respond well to hard pruning of any sort.

That makes sense I guess since I've always had it, I figured trees with good lighting and if kept warm would do good inside all winter. I actually bought my greenhouse because I had no room for my trees came the end of winter my first year.

The humidity from the greenhouse helps a lot. I rigged up a makeshift greenhouse a couple years ago to house a few plants while I was on vacation and they grew better then than when I was home. I actually just rigged up something similar for some plants that are a bit weak.
