Been waiting on a good round of interior buds to cut back to, the scale infestation that led to this hack and defoil may do it.

Finally getting these buds to keep going. @Shibui who were we talking to about ficus buds? I want them to see this one. This is the one I was thinking about.
That little branch in that low "U" on the left, popped up years ago but didn't continue, maybe a couple times. This time, it finally kept going! I have been trying to cut back to there for years!

I think they will reliably try to grow from anywhere they've grown before.

The scale didn't ruin X-mas. Found a couple in leaf stems but they're not infesting.

Trimmed for interior activation and moved some guy wires.

I love this tree. It really shows what you can accomplish by starting off right. The tree would never have gotten where it is now without the wiring work in the beginning. Well done.

The ants seem to keep these things sorted by size and/or growth cycle, making it easier to know what to look for where.
