This tree was collected in 2013 and I only recently decided to make it a cascade. This weekend we bent the heavy jin flush with the trunk, and I did the initial structural wiring. A long way to go, but I am happy to have a defined goal for this challenging piece of material.

Summer 2015 after sandblasting.

Today after setting a basic structure. The sacrifice branches will be kept for a year or two until the main foliage mass gains more vigor. The live veins still need to mature quite a bit.

An absolute jaw dropper! Moving that jin really helps make the base look more powerful and improves the taper overall. This tree is a good example of why White Cedar are such an awesome species and it makes me excited to search.
