Show us some of your bunjins under construction

I'm taking the "construction" part literally:

This final image is the orientation I think it's going to take. The two grafts are growing well, and I think this summer I'll Jin off the remaining Western foliage.

That center section of natural Shari is really cool.
Wow, looking at the dead wood, it almost looks like there's a horse leaping off to the right! Or maybe a dog or wolf running away with something in its mouth!

(Hmm... This cheap beer I'm drinking must be stronger than I thought!)

What I thought I saw:

Scorce, I like that. Is that a J. chinensis? There are some green mound procumbens at Walmart around here now so I'm thinking of grabbing a couple to mess with. I planned on staking or wiring one of them up, maybe I'll try to reduce one like that. Thanks for the inspiration. :D

Thank you!

I think I heard you say that the other day...
Those are the same ones I got.

They got some mixed...only a few nanas...
But for $5 1gl and $10 2gl, they are already at sale prices!

Ching ching!

Post em up!

Just put this one in its first training pot. 43" height and 2.75" caliper. Engelmann spruce, collected 2013. No work has been done to this.

Nice tree with great possibilities;). Surprising what small pots some of our Yamadori will go into:eek:.

Yeah, ideally this would've gone into something bigger, but at the time, I just wanted something in a little pot..... I nearly murdered this tree before I knew anything about anything regarding bonsai, especially deciduous trees.
It actually came form a farm, in a nursery bucket. Due to the torture I gave it last year, most of the roots died, I repotted it back into this pot this year and it's got plenty of room to grow in there... I'll check the roots again in two years I think.

Hahaha, woops, I'm dumb.

Great find......looking forward to see its progression........not sure about the Lower Tbar branches, one of them might need to go.

Here is a mountain hemlock I've been growing. I like the idea of removing the smaller two sister saplings attached to the base, they are much younger, with smooth bark and without any of the characteristics of the main stem.
Cheers
