I've thought about doing something like this before, but it didn't feel worthwhile in a rental. I should reevaluate that sentiment.Instal a spighot wye on the cold side if that's

Run hose to washer as usual from one side.
On the other side of the wye theres a spighot x 1/4" push fitting that you run a 1/4" line to and run other end into washer drain.
You instal a brass wye with 2 valved outlets.
Before placing down into the drain a good depth and zip tying to prevent jumping out, open valve just enough to het desired trickle into a bucket or jug.

Now mine has to 90° elbow up right out of wye to clear washer. So nevermind the long nipple.
