Hi there,

maybe a dumb question, time to repot here, some tree are 3 years on the same pot was repotted with 50% aka 50% Pumice. Since the akadama is almost destroyed, but the Pumice is still good how do you keep it ot throw everything ? Wich system do you use to separate ?

Sifting, we recycled a lot of soil this year and still have bags drying to be sifted. Most of the used soil will move to trees in development.

Pumice floats when dry, akadama doesn't.
But if sifting takes me more than an hour, I trash it.

If the crapadama is degraded it should sift out of the proper size screen leaving the good substrate: pumice behind.

I don't save any soil or components at re-pot. I use them all in grow beds and flower beds.

Sifting if it can be easily separated.
If not then toss it out
