SCIENCE FICTION? Opinion please

....... I'm guessing fungus... or alien symbiont waiting to take over your body.
That bulldog with the man's head in that Donald Sutherland film gave me nightmares!

I have a bag of potting soil that does something very similar...

It consistantly grows huge (some reach ping-pong ball size) greyish blobs that look like slugs. I suspect that they are only dark because of the potting soil; If I washed one it may come out to be the same color as yours.

Nasttyyyyyy
I've had that too but they looked more like the conventional mushroom shape. I posted one a year or two ago on the forum.

It's changing rapidly. The translucent outer jelly part is shriveling and the orange core will probably break free soon. If a baby pterodactyl emerges from that thing….. I'm outta' here!

These ones dont look like a mushroom, just a spherical blob

I want to know wtf it is! Please let us know. Maybe its an alien poo or dragons egg. Or devil spawn?
Seriously, Id like to know what hatches or emerges from it!

Don't worry. I'm keeping an eye on it and I'll photograph any changes. It looks to me like the outer membrane is going to dry up and the orange sphere will develop on its' own - similar to frogs eggs. It's actually like any amphibious egg (no shell) or even a marsupial. It still might be a piece of candy but I doubt it now. The only problem is that it might "hatch" during the night and fly off to bat airplanes from atop "the turning torso" (our tallest building) .... before I wake up in the morning.

Now, which one is the edible testicle? And you manage to grow these?
The only edible ones are hanging from oysters in the higher altitudes of the Rocky Mountains. As far as me "managing to grow them" ... I didn't do a thing.

Put a mesh dome around it!! Dont let it escape, we must know!

Anthurus archeri?...

Maybe. I don't really think so but mushrooms can bear very different shapes, especially in different climates and environments.

This Australian species settled south of the Loire valley, probably brought with wool bales in the early 19th century and is now totally common in this area (Sologne: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sologne). Compared to local species, they do look like invaders from outer space!

Honestly made me lol. I was thinking we have a fungus here in Maryland that looks like an upside down carrot. Can't wait to see what it is I'm thinking that may be it. I'll try and Google it later and post back.

Im for trapping...it... And checking on it with a pistol in one hand, camera in the other!
Really, what a wierd lookin' thing. Looks like a soft boiled egg. Does it move ?

Don't bath them; you'll never manage to get rid of them.
They'll follow you around and everything.

You obviously have no actual comprehension
of the matter if it is only a "slight" fear.
Be afraid; be very afraid.

No big deal is clear over in Sweden. Euro could stand a sobering invasion of something besides undesireables from middle east:p. Maybe USA as well. Just not Triffids:rolleyes:.
