First, I want to say he will be missed - I enjoyed his posts and sense of humor.
Looks like he was 84 based on this post (please don't think I'm linking this in bad taste, I actually think he'd get a kick out of it):

I always expect Mr. Oak to be a repot bitch!
I wasn't wrong.
ROOTS !!! DENSE! I'm hoping the slightly larger pot will encourage OUTWARD root growth. I'm too old to fight another repot.
It was a mistake to put it in the oval mica pot.

I always knew when I clicked on his post, he'd be exasperated (in the best way) about something, and I always got a laugh when I interacted with him. I can only hope that someone can say that about me when I'm out! Condolences to family and friends, so sorry to hear of his passing.
