Hi guys

I bought a few black pine babies in march and just removed the first training wire and replaced it with fresh in new places.

When spring finally hit they had a short growth cycke and nothing.

I dont usually re-pot but maybe twice a year. But i know a guy that repots his constantly with great results.

My trees are only 3 years old with thin trunks.

Any way my question is should i repot them more often or just use fertiilzer.

What store bought fertilizer would you recommend?

Repot three times a year??? I that's extremely excessive! Like, I'm shocked they aren't dead yet... Which is also why you are only having small pushes of growth. Roots aren't getting a chance to develope and accumulate energy

Repotting in gardening terms can be 'remove the pot and put it in a bigger one'. When working with organic soils, that's usually the way to go. That doesn't damage the roots a lot and will cause an increase in growth pattern.
Once it's in bonsai soil, repotting should be done once a year at most.

I'm using cow dung as dried pellets, together with trace elements, or a more universal less organic soluble plant feed.
