Don't really need to do that. I'd just wrap them in a we towel--allow a bit of air circulation. Plastic promotes mold, etc. in a sealed environment. Cloth can too, but it's not airtight.

I actually got two timers for different water times and it all worked out great. Just had these working for a week prior to leaving to make sure I got them dialed in on timing and sprinkler angles/quantity per plant.

I'm going away for two weeks in August. I will be teaching my nephew how to water. He's very happy to get a few extra bucks watering my trees and feeding my son's animals. He may kill everything, but that's another story.

I have a lot of trees on a balcony and have no hose hookup so I use the Gardena Aquabloom system but I use a much bigger reservoir. So far it’s been very helpful although most of my trees are pre-bonsai and potted in nursery mix so they’re a bit more forgiving with watering schedules.
