No more tubes

It is growing currently, and aside from minor leaf pruning (to get more light to inner buds) I haven't pruned it in quite a while.

If the growing continues into spring, I may repot sooner rather than later, to give it as much time as possible to recover in the sun.

Basket sounds good....

And earth!

I hacked mine from the ground like a savage in fall and it is still golden!

Even after whacking it some more!

Plus short a couple knotty bulges that seem easy to control with weekly attention....

Unhindered forgotten growth seems able to be lopped back without much worry.

Well.....
I got a little trigger happy with the Dremel over winter....
I was however, impressed with my ability to make this ugly tree even uglier.
Still growing strong though...
Plan for this year is to repot into something a little larger and just let it grow wild.

My brother gave me a really ugly one, he got for free from a lady at work. I didn't care if it lived, so I chopped the tubes, and cut the top completely back. It's only redeeming quality is some aerial roots. It's just sitting in a terra cotta pot, because that's all it deserves. I kind of hate it, but he thought he was doing a good thing, so I kept it around.

How long ago did you chop?
Is it growing?

Dont know about the previous post glitch....strange....

Brought my trops in today.
Nights in the 40's F coming up.
This tree has been growing untouched since the previous post in 2018.
I only repotted in 2019 into a larger plastic trainer.....it sulked for a bit, then rebounded.
Today I brought it in, defoliated and cut back.

What is the advantage to all the defoliation that you've been doing?
