New growth on chinese elm looks brown/burnt?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if this is an issue? The rest of the new growth looks fine it just seams to this new growth on this particular branch/stem.

Forgot to mention we had a lot of heavy rain around one to two weeks ago! which it's never experienced as it had been kept inside at the garden centre and for a week when I 1st got it. Also upped the nutrients to full strength 1 week ago i was only giving it half strength before that.

Rainfall would not normally cause this type of symptom in UK .
We have had some hard frosts lately so that is the probable cause. You should keep it in a sheltered spot until it acclimatises to being outdoors and dont kill it with kindness by overfeeding !

Also going with frost damage, a tree in that stage should be shuffling when frost is predicted.

Thanks all. Yes we had a frost last week. So after everyone saying that's the problem I'm going with that. I'll move it inside if another frost comes along.
