Naming Laceleaf X Arakawa Japanese Maple

Acer Palmatum Suberii
From suber, latin for cork, or from suberin, the polymer that is cork.

AP "Suber lace"
"Twente's red" if the fall coloration is reddish.

I like Jelle's Bells (or maybe Jelle's Belles ?) but it's always a lot more fun when a rose (for example !) is named after a person rather than a marketable slogan... Somehow "Souvenir de Madame J.-B. Croibier" is so much more engaging than "Easy for You" or "Ketchup and Mustard". I say enough of the reign of MBA-capitalism... lol

If I were you I would’t combine Leather and Cork in a name.. a small typo could change your audience perhaps. Just saying

There are a lot of great ideas, but it is important to remember that a name is also a selling tool.

Acer Ferwerdia would be the most obvious, but traditional way of naming it. 😄
