my scissors hit the deck...

I have a very strong "move out of the way instinct". In fact, that instinct has gotten me in trouble with my partner at least two times I recall when I was apparently supposed to protect her. but hey, you can only fight instinct so much!
 
Now the tricky question to all..

You are working barefoot on a concrete floor and the scissors drop. Do you put your feet in between the falling tool and the concrete or not?

1) I like the trolley problem format; and

2) The bones in your feet could still blunt the tip.

The fun of the trolley problem is that phrasing it differently gets different results. In fact, in the most recent survey of English speaking philosophers, about 63% said they would not pull the level in the original phrasing, but then 56% said they would push a man off a bridge to save 5 live, despite the very similar phrasing.
