My old rose..

Its about 30yrs old. I dug it up 8yrs ago and had to cut off some real think side trunks.
Currently its about 300mm high and the trunk diameter is 160mm (at the thickest side).
What is interesting about it, is I never sealed the wood when I removed the excess growth. It started rotting away...without me noticing it really.
One day with a replant I discovered the extend of the rot. It was all over. The insides all around came out by hand and some tools. I had to do some carving on the upper sections...to kinda blend the fat base with the new growth. Its an ongoing process atm.
I'm still not sealing anything and just leaving it to nature to do its thing.
Some pics of it. Its a bit dirty and mossy...but its not time to clean now.
It flowers profusely now.

Good God, man! That is spectacular!
I came to bonsai after 25 years of raising antique English roses. I had just recently thinking about David Austin roses as bonsai. This is really inspiring!

The holes in the trunk(s) are stunning. I wonder how the tree looks when a bright sunrise comes beaming through the trunk

I need to show off its beautiful flowers. Its covered atm. Every 2nd day I remove all fully opened flowers, and the next morning its all pink again.
I'm moving it inside the house now to fully enjoy it.

Correction. Ive been speaking to the neighbor and did some proper calculations. This rose is 18-20 yrs old....not 30.

Beauty is ageless. (and age is a number I don't care about) Awesome work, I love it.
