My family is looking to get me some Christmas gifts so I figured some bonsai books would be great. Does anyone have suggestions on some good ones?

I'll let others chime in with their favorite educational bonsai book. I'll suggest you pick up a Kokufu book. Lots of inspiration and they are regularly for sale on 99 cent bonsai Facebook page. World class trees that are well photographed.

I've heard amazing things about "Bonsai with Japanese Maples" by a Peter Adams if you have any Maples (not just Japanese). I've been trying to get one myself just haven't actually ordered it.
I actually have that one! It’s a wonderful book. I do suggest that one to anyone that loves maples.

I have and reference these often:

"The Complete Practical Encyclopedia Of Bonsai" Ken Norman

"Bonsai From The Wild" Nick Lenz

"Bonsai For Indoors Handbook" Through Brooklyn Botanic Garden

"101 Essential Tips Bonsai" Harry Tomlinson (This one is also a handbook type of periodical.

I will be ordering Peter Adams' book on Maples next, it's been in my Cart for about a week. LOL...

Has anyone purchased this book yet?
If so, what are your thoughts?
Thx!

All the books are low information for me, because I live in Florida. I've not read *any* bonsai books, including ficus ones, that have been much use.

Buy yourself Bonsai Today issues #1-#4, or the whole entire set. Once you learn how to properly wire, properly carve, and learn your style, I dont think those books will be that much of current and up to date information. BT magazine is full of USEFUL articles, written by the real experts. Issue #1 through #4 have some of the best articles, including the best wiring howto you will ever read.

I hit reply too fast -- That was for educational material.

If going for a coffee table book, the Facebook Auctions sites will have the old Kokufu ten books pretty regularly, contact Josef Addis (Spelling?) if you cant find them, he always has extras. As well as for Bonsai Today.
