Not sure if I should post this here or on the maple subforum, but since it is a podcast well, here it goes.

I have not heard it yet, but I am subscribed to MrMaple news and this one was on todays update. Hopefully there is some talks for them to finally propagate cuttings instead of grafts for bonsai purpose, but I really doubt it, as grafts are apparently more profitable.

These guys for sure create content. Which is a bit of a fresh air in the nursery industry. This should be cool to check out.

They are selling more ungrafted trees, but the problem is that they sell out in 5 minutes because the ungrafted trees are so popular. Now that they own Bucholz nursery, I wonder what they do with all the thousands of test seedlings they show on their videos.

I got a couple of the ungrafted Bonsai Babies dwarf seedlings they sell (in 1 gallon pots) last year and they are nice, with tiny leaves.

One thing I realized this year, far into my addiction to Mr Maple trees, is that if you buy in fall the trees you get are three times bigger, folded in half in the box. The folding isn't a problem since I just live 3 hours from Mr Maple and receive my trees in a day or two.

I listened to it. It was nice hearing their story and getting Ryan’s thoughts, etc. I’ve purchased several trees from Matt and Tim. Latest purchases are Mikawa seedlings and a Zelkova, which should be here this weekend. Hope the graft isn’t too ugly…I bought a saiho this summer from them abd the graft isn’t bad at all. I was really happy with it. For a 1 gal, it was enormous.

I had a mikawa seedling, but it didn't survive last years hard freeze. They do sell out rather fast.

This is the right time to order, I've noticed that they do advertise them as large or XL 1 gal trees. My Baton Rouge was one of this.

Interesting, I have an alert for this and I have not received an email... I guess I will have to set up a new one.

Those darn alerts, by the time I see them on my phone the tree is sold out again. That's what I mean about how quickly the trees go. I've been trying to get Hubbles Super Cork forever, got an alert, and had it sell out while I was trying to order. Unfortunately, something else usually is available that feeds my addiction. :)

I have one, this spring I will try to take a few cuttings. I did took one last year during winter, I was not planning on it taking as it was a branch that I broke by mistake so I gave it no protection. I did leafed out, but it dried out in a few weeks... when I pulled it, it had a few small roots. This year I will place them in my grow tent when I take them.

The grafts on Mr Maple trees have improved over the years. My first ones are ugly. I am now waiting for the arrival of a 3 gallon Ryusen thanks to a recent blog from Bill Valavanis! He did give a shout out to Mr Maple, and had a link for them. The blog was largely about the progression of a Ryusen developed over the years by Darlene Hutt, and then his Ryusen. I have seen pics of Darlene’s posted on B-Nut. Anyway fingers crossed I like mine.when it arrives on Monday. Shipping is expensive to my area for a 3 gallon. In addition I found a beautiful cultivar on Mr Maple named Asayake. I had to get 2 more because I loved the first so much, it came with amazing Fall color and leaf shape.

Excellent retailer! I just received a beautiful 1 gal Corylopsis from them. I just finished listening to the podcast and these guys are passionate about what they do and HOW they do it. Solid operation.
