METAL TAGS OUT THERE FOR MARKING TREES

Do you al have so many trees that you do not know which trees you have that you need to label thme?
It's nice to put zone, collection date, when re-potted (RP 2/22) etc for easily seen notes. I don't do all the book work that others do.

I get the feeling that almost all of the tags shown are made by the same company! We use the press write type, cut them in half punch holes and get 2 for 1.

These tages work for at least two years, maybe more in our location. (We’ve only tried them for two years so far 😎.) Yet our weather isn’t the same as OP’s

Labels mainly list cultivar and date first acquired. I like the date repotted. Will have to use that in the future.

OMG WHATS UP WITH THE CAPS!!!???

I use these and keep a spreadsheet with information about each tree. I attach them to the tree with a cable tie. I've had trees with these tags on them for 10 years and the numbers are still very readable.

Hi I know this is an old thread, but I found it through search and wanted to see if you could share with me the spreadsheet that you use. I'm planning on doing the exact same thing (with the same tags as you linked!).

Um, like which program? I use Microsoft Excel.
Its not a pre made spreadsheet, I just made it up.
I have a tab for each species and each tree has 3 columns each for recording data.
