Chumono
Bald cypress potted in 25% Haydite and 75% unsifted pine bark (sold as soil conditioner). The pine bark comes in a 2cf bag; ~14 gallons or 56.6 liters. I added 5 gallons of Haydite.
I topped this with 4 gallons of crushed lava (50/50 red/black). The growing container does not drain. The roots will remain completely submerged in water. The lava serves three purposes for a submerged root system: 1) Keeps pine bark from floating away, 2) Prevents mosquito growth, 3) I needed more soil than I thought and didn’t want to open another bag of soil conditioner.
Mixing red and black lava is my personal favorite.
