Just a cold, wet day at San Gabriel Nursery

I always visited the Yamaguchi Bonsai Nursery near...Los Angeles...located on Sawtelle Blvd.

I haven't been there in years. It was kinda far for me way out there past LAX. Also... I agree with you the trees were expensive. Gary's trees are expensive, but they are top quality. I didn't think the trees at Yamaguchi warranted their price tags, but it has probably been 10 years since I was there last so maybe things have changed(?)

I just Googled them and am surprised to see they are still open. I never hear anything about them - from my bonsai friends or at GSBF shows. San Gabriel, Chikugo-En, and House of Bonsai are at every show here in LA/OC. I expect to see them all at the Bonsai-a-thon.
