First thought is that it needs time to recover and gain vigor, assuming you just cut a bunch of foliage off to get to that point. It's got a decently thick trunk. Needs more foliage. Then wiring.

pretty drawing, but seems focused more on the top than the foliage pad cascading portion. Not that the top can't be the focal point, but you'll need to envision the tree as a whole to have a design that has visual flow.
At least you have a plan, and that's a good thing, but KM is correct, make sure you allow it to be healthy first and foremost.

Thank you for your replies!

The image was accidentally cut, and I just did not bother drawing it again.

It would be great if you could update your profile with your location...

The portion that is in view is well done (I can tell you put some time into the virtual). I agree with Judy, though, that seeing the 'whole' image would elicit even more feedback, which might be beneficial for you! Good luck.

Thanks.

I did it for fun, it is the first time I try to design a tree.

The branches it has are the ones the tree has currently, just with a bit more volume. That is why I did not draw it again. This would be a "short term" achievement (branches).

The Jin and Nebari would take longer, I guess. As a beginner, I have never carved dead wood, I am still practicing more basic techniques.

Right now, I am happy to have a guideline, I was losing hope with that tree!

Thank you for your comments.
