it comes to determining the front of the tree. And to do that, we need nebari which this tree doesn't have. That is 3 years old lesson.
And thats why I chose this one to experiment with.
Determining front is a combination of the best features of - nebari, trunk shape, apex and branch placement. Sometimes everything lines up and we get the best of all those but more often we must compromise some or all to get the best aesthetic overall. If your tree has poor nebari then put more weight on picking best trunk bends and branch placement to make up for lack of nebari. The trees are still very young with lots to do so it should still be possible to make changes to nebari - prune off some roots, uncoil and straighten some bent roots (if they are still pliable), cut bent roots before the bend. Contrary to popular belief pines can, and will, grow new roots from the cut ends of pruned roots in most cases.
