Keep in mind what Brian started with. This is the kind of progression that gets a noob's mouth to watering! WOW! I really need to figure out Juniperus. I have 3 that are still alive, one of them in the ground for three years now for the trunk. Planning to get it into some type of pot this winter.
I know who to ask for advice now, after seeing this thread!
That’s a good phase.Nice work, Brian. It's great to see the side-by-side from 12 years ago to today. It's come a very long way from those humble beginnings. It's impressive to see such an increase in trunk girth even though it's been in a relatively small pot over this time.
This is my personal taste, but I like the airy and open quality that you had previously. I realize that you just did a cut back and to achieve this, it would most likely require a full wiring.

Thanks, it needs to be pruned back, thinned out and wired. I just haven’t had time. Maybe this summer.Beautiful. What are your plans for it this year?
Thanks, maybe not much, but the branches are starting to drift up and it has been a few years since it’s been detailed out. We’ll see…Doesn’t look like it’s gonna need a single wire. Great work.
