About 10 months ago, I bought this two mexican heather ( cuphea hyssopifolia ) for 2$ each one. As my first try to make "some kind" of composition, I used this plastic pot and a torii gate (18$) from Amazon.

I have prunned it 4 or 5 times in this months and wired a bit. I didn't expect such a gowing strength, but here it is now:

I feel proud about my work with this one. I guess some will say hmmm, but I don't claim this to be a bonsai, just my source of joy and happiness!

Cuphea is my favorite species to draw hummingbirds to the yard. They have some blooms nearly year round.
The hummers get territorial and if you keep the planting near a window you will be rewarded with WW2 dogfights.

The flowers in that make it look almost like mini bougies.

Fun project. Everyone should have something they play with in their garden.

Nice gateway. Nice idea. Possible to get more movement in lower trunks/branches maybe😊?

Lovely, it might not be a classical bonsai but related enough to be posted here and it does look nice.
These plants trends to grow as an inverse triangle with a flat top, this can be corrected by pruning them into a tree shape.

I like it a lot.

Deserves a better pot!

Thats awesome. Looks nice and believable, trees need to thicken a bit and a better pot, anything else seems very nice to me.

Love this, simple but effective

An update for this "toy" project (I'm calling it "yin and yang"). Looking forward to see how it looks in a couple of years more:

Me encanta esta presentación!

Tan divertismo! 🤓

Pensas necesita un acento?

I think that would really round it out!

I love it!!! the whole thing just oozes charm and character. I wish I had just half of your creativity sometimes.
