Last year I didn't protect my trees and lost a lot of them as a result.
I do have a good many tropicals. I spent most of yesterday again covering
my shade structure with plastic sheeting like I've done in the past.
There are plenty of air leaks for circulation. I don't have to water much.
At night, only when temps are 40 or below, I turn on a small space heater
that keeps temps moderated just enough for everybody to survive happily.
Any plant that really is temperate, I can leave out of the structure and they
are fine with the plastic as just a windbreak. I add christmas lights and a couple
of plastic chairs and spend quite abit of time out there just dreaming.
The area is essentially most of my back deck. The dogs like it too as a warm
place out of the wind all winter.
