Gonna be busy today

that is a lot of work! What is that white substance, Is it fert? But if so then how do you remove it after candle cutting? It looks like the leavings from carpenter bees, they've been such a wood nuisance this year here. One even started looking at the deadwood on my larch!

The white stuff is Clearys granular fungicide. I apply once in the spring as the buds begin to elongate and again in the summer at decandling time. Loads of carpenter bees around here, though... the only deadwood I'd worry about is on my Rocky Mountain Junipers and I think that wood is too hard even for them... 🤞
