Giant Sequoia bark question

Hello. I’m new to the forum, so thanks for welcoming me. I have a 3yr old giant sequoia. I noticed some damage to the trunk while winterizing. About two weeks later, I noticed a growth under the bark (see picture). This appears to be the tree healing itself, but I wanted to get a second opinion to confirm it isn’t a fungus or something that is causing harm to the tree. The growth is hard and the tree is otherwise healthy and thriving.

Thank you!D322C348-942C-4088-9A03-D3315BACDBE8.jpeg

The cream white line looks like it may be a borer chew tunnel but hard to tell. Push on the white areas with a probe and see if it is mushy or hard.

The edges are kind of clean so likley rules out vermin.

Thanks for the reply. I took another pick, but the lighting isn’t in my favor right now. The cream white growth is growing between the bark and the trunk, pushing out on the bark, and is hard when probed.
