Flowers 2022

Two side-by-sides to hightlight the kinds of differences that make up the different Prunus mume (Ume) cultivars:

Petal number, color, shape, stamen number, length, spread, sepal color, etc.

(pink on the right is a shidare/weeping variety)

You found a lantana :) Is it a bigger plant?
I have 4 inside. Just regular nursery plants I bought this spring that I put in bonsai pots because I could. I have been cutting them back and they backbud well and just want to bloom all of the time. I did have a nice one from Zach Smith, but I lost it last winter for some reason not determined. But I do have a cutting from that tree and that is what the last picture is from.

So happy to see this one blooming. I've been battling mealy bugs on my office orchids for months. I finally applied a systemic and believe I am winning the battle. hot kiss 2022.jpg

Even in the harshest places you can find something beautiful, and even the called "weeds" can be pretty, like this Convolvulus althaeoides:

I have never seen pink bindweed before! Only ever in white, as a child my aunts house backed onto fields and woodland and there was white bindweed everywhere. She would always remind me that it was a weed and a pest when tasked to help clear it but I always thought it was the most pretty of weeds!

I’m not usually one for Orchids but I bought this one for the office today.

And an interesting colored Anthurium because I was feeling more than a little physically and emotionally drained and needed more cheap plant therapy.
