Flowers 2022

Never heard of it before. Beautiful...

Have you, or do you know anyone who has tried it as bonsai, one way or another? I've seen beautiful specimens of Wisteria, one amazing Campsis radicans (China), etc. so why not Canarina canariensis ?

Does it have a local name ?

Edit: I've searched Wikipedia (Fr.) to access to the page in Spanish :

bicacarera, bicacarero o campanilla
Yes Bicácaro its the spanish name, the plant have a perennial thick root and every season sprouts with the winter rain and dies off in summer

I finally found the photo I mentioned in my previous post. Campsis radicans, "bignone" (trumpet vine, bignonia roja, 中文, ...)

They grow very well here, in fact so much that they are invasive xD I have seen some with potential for yamadori

Gosh it was 22F last night… I searched all around for one flower in the yard. None wanted to come out to play! Yet I lucked into not one, but two types of flowers. One in the garage cutting propagation area. The other in the cold greenhouse. Here they are.

Bixby’s Dwarf a really cold hardy hybrid

I'm so glad I brought my Fuchsia inside this year, it's been blooming all winter.

This little forsythia clump has a ways to go, of course, but rewarding to see flowers appear on these cuttings from last year.

I also put a few of the rooted cuttings in the ground out on the farm, and yowza.... they grew quickly. About four-feet tall and 2-3 inches thick at the base from pencil-sized stems in one growing season.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did, he and his housemate have similar tastes. He uses my Amazon account, so I'll be watching....
Next thing you know he'll start asking tips on how to care for, "tropical flower."
And then you can finally bond over common interests.
