Flowers 2022

I picked up a begonia at the supermarket last spring and I took cuttings just before our winter freeze. I was able to keep them alive over winter.

Very pretty. I brought in several lantanas and gardenias this winter, just to see if they would live. So nice having flowers all winter.

Its my favorite camellia too .................now.
It’s very hard to find. I got it from Wilsonbrosgardens I believe they still have some 3 gallons in stock online

This is the Hamamelis intermedia that is from post #14. January 7. Still going strong in the darkness of my garage. It’s starting to drop a few petals but still has 3-4 weeks in it. The problem is…….once developed how do you display it? I guess I’ll just go sit on the tractor and admire the flowers.

Never heard of it before. Beautiful...

Have you, or do you know anyone who has tried it as bonsai, one way or another? I've seen beautiful specimens of Wisteria, one amazing Campsis radicans (China), etc. so why not Canarina canariensis ?

Does it have a local name ?

Edit: I've searched Wikipedia (Fr.) to access to the page in Spanish :

bicacarera, bicacarero o campanilla

My Pleione are about to flower. When they do, I bring the pot to my mother, then take it back home to care for them.

They're very early this year although I kept the pots outside except when the temps would go below zero (32F).
Last year's photos were taken on April 10th 2021 :

Gosh it was 22F last night… I searched all around for one flower in the yard. None wanted to come out to play! Yet I lucked into not one, but two types of flowers. One in the garage cutting propagation area. The other in the cold greenhouse. Here they are.

Bixby’s Dwarf a really cold hardy hybrid
