Flowers 2020

Wow!! That could be an absolute knockout as a semi-cascade.
20200605_181835.jpgWell that's how I'm starting to train it. I'm hoping for some budding on that exposed side that was under the plant originally so it doesn't look bald. I'm thinking a brighter pot also, possibly red.

Florist's azalea flowers keep expanding.

A new acquisition Feb 2020
Azalea 'Harris Fascination' - the plant is a little rough. I was surprised how large the flowers are. Almost too big for bonsai.

Last is a neglected 'Akemi-no-tsuki'
only one flower this year show the possible sports, a pink stripe

Rode through Flowerfield, Il today, thinking about this thread.

Go ahead look it up. No one knew it existed!

@ABCarve - yep probably a Miltassia. Nice. I like the almost black mask in the flower.

Pink Satsuki from Brussel's, this is the "no name" satsuki that they sell whenever they list something just as "Satsuki". Lovely flowers, a little floppy because it was raining, trop storm remnant Cristobal is passing over us right now. Blustery and impossibly humid, not that much rain yet.

my no name Satsuki whip from David Kreutz. Mostly pure white flowers with only the occasional sport. Again, it was raining when I grabbed the photo. @Harunobu - do you recognize the cultivar? The whip is over a meter tall.

Those are not the most high definition pictures. Maybe the second one is 'Asuka' or something related? It does have the sword shaped kenben flower. But there are so many Asuka-based cultivar and sports out there.

The first one is much harder to guess. I can't see what blotch it has. But from the plant habit, it looks like a more modern polyploid cultivar. I think if you give me a 'Nasuno', some rain, and the same image quality, you could get close to that picture. But your pink one has no stripes at all, right? No azalea that looks trumpet-like, like some pink Suisen-decedent, come to mind right now.
