Five reasons I like shohin.

Jkl, please come join the Atlanta Bonsai Society! I'm sure all the members would appreciate your contributions of time, energy, and money to improve our show materials! In fact, they'll be happy for you to assume the chair of the show committee!

I have heard that next year, they want us to expand into a different building at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. It would be the perfect time to upgrade the back drops!

We're always looking for someone with time, money, and expertise to donate here too...and if you iron, that's a huge bonus!

I love shohin. If I could trade all my bigger trees in for shohins I would.

Speaking of bonsai shows, if people can work out the logistic of shipping bonsai back and forth, like via FedEx Overnight, we can have a really big national show. The trees are small enough where they can be packed into a small box for easier shipping. Seem like it should be doable.

FedEx, huh? Seems like Memphis would be the logical choice!

Shipping the stands, is another matter...

here are two of my shohin bonsai...still in development. I included before pictures from a year ago. On the willow leaf ficus, I changed the angle of the tree and I think it looks a lot better

this elm is going to get the side branches air layered off this summer and the middle branch will become the leader...should make a nice shohin.

the new front change was a decision I made after talking with Adam Lavigne about styling trees in general...he never saw this ficus, but I think he's agree it looks better with this front

the smaller ficus with round leaves always looks laggy after the winter...it needs a lot of work this summer to return it to a nice looking tree
