I hesitate to post this link as it showed up as an ad in my FB feed. Anyway, it's an outfit apparently in Hawaii that makes fake bonsai out of clay and other materials. The prices are astronomical, but if the trees in the photos are not fake, they're better than a lot of the freeze dried "bonsai" out there.

I have no affiliation with the site, don't know if the seller is legitimate. One look at the photos of his "staff" and I have my doubts...

I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't buy this. I prefer my one living bonsai over those because you grow attached to something that you have put work into.

I wouldn't buy these either, BUT they're not bonsai. They are indoor decoration. Different thing, a sort of sub-bonsai.

"Ming Trees" (not the ming aralea) were popular back in the middle of the 20th century. They were fake "bonsai" trees used for interiors. They were made of everything from jade to real wood, etc.

$4800 for a fake plastic tree??? I think Radiohead wrote a song about that didn't they?

[Verse 3]
She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
