Trimmed a weak branch that was low on this trunk about 2 months ago and sealed with wood glue. Saw this bud trying to push through. Thought it would be interesting to watch and see what it does.

Do you think it'll push off the glue? Would it make sense to cut the membrane of glue so the bud can escape? It's not a bad spot for a branch if you train it to grow to the left.

If it behaves like my grafted bud under the grafting tape, it will push hard but once it decides that it cannot break through it dies quick.

Experiment over. Branch finally emerged normal. Don't know what I was expecting but was hoping for something maybe a little "cooler"?
