Cement pot contest

Hmmm... I got essentially "screwed" out of a kiln I was planning for/building my goals on.... And I JUST hit the end of reasonable "pit-firing experimentation" temperatures....

I'm down... It'll ALSO be my FIRST cement pot!

I'm not exactly sure how to start such a competition however cement is super cheap there are loads of instructionals on your tube so it should be a pretty cheap/fun/quick competition.

I have a bag of quickcrete in my shed I had planned on trying this with over summer, but never got to it.
What sort of timeframe would we be looking at? I'm waiting on job interview, so (hopefully) may be very busy soon.

I'm happy to make it a longer contest, with unlimited entries.

I had a few bags stored in my garage go bad, used them on fence post and they never hardened. I would do a test sample first make sure they're still good. I googled it and found out they don't last more than a month or two in the garage.

Good point. I'm in a much dryer climate, so hopefully that's helped.

I’ve done them by digging a hole in the ground and just making a mix that I form to the walls. Here is one with a young oak forest and mushrooms not good photo of the pot but it looks cool. View attachment 463907
Hadn't thought of the hole in the ground before. I might have to give that a go.
