Good call on the branch above that one. As the foliage fills out I can also separate the foliage on the bottom right into more pads as well. It’ll be nice to get this tree in a pot next spring.
 
I think this pot will work well with this tree. For a few years at least. The big notches in the rim on the left side might be placed just right to allow the deadwood to extend out past the rim. We shall see next spring.

Pads and foliage in general needs more refinement and backbudding, but im happy with the pot. The bottom left pad is the benchmark as that one had the best bavkbudding and shortest internodes. I was able to get it quite tight. The rest should follow suit with health and vigor.C0F7059F-B904-4E19-A47F-1F37427AD24E.jpeg
 
Interesting. This tree has had more incarnations than the Dali Lama.
