Caribbean/Florida's Gulf hazard incoming arsenic laden Sargassum seaweed nightmare

Try coastal Oregon. We love it in the winter.
We're going in July and the trip is already booked, so it will be what it will be. I have a cousin that lives in Oregon though and hope to go visit sometime soon.

It is awesome out there, the big coast redwoods in south Oregon will change your life!

Red Tide is nothing new on the Gulf Coast. I remember it well in the 70s as a kid. Beach covered in dead fish.
There's a difference in red dinoflagellates (an algae) and this brown macro algae (a seaweed).
Both cause respiratory issues though, and both can cause dead fish, but smell and look totally different themselves.
I understand this seaweed is already coming ashore in Ft Lauderdale just ahead of Spring break, but not at peak levels yet.
The red tide already seen in Naples, FL 3 weeks ago. It appears both can affect the waters at the same time then.
