Can anyone mimic this pattern and glaze?

Why say cone most do not understand instead of just give temperature or other intelligible WE might understand:confused:?

Truth truth, as a consumer/layperson, both numbers are irrelevant.

Irrelevant like the mph or kph your plane is flying if you already know the departure and arrival times fit your schedule.

You just get the slight benefit of knowing a potter may actually know what they are talking about if they use cone as a description.

So though it may be something you understand, it isn't actually providing you with any more information.
Odd and rare phenomenon this, where understanding is actually a detriment because it seems you have more information when in fact you don't.
I don't write this to say, "go learn cones and temps", but that is the only information that will actually protect you from this detriment.

I personally, would be ok just knowing it's irrelevant. F a cone chart!

Actually no....do study the cone chart.

I was watching David the Good on YouTube last night, a gardener recreating Terra Preta in Alabama. If he knew how to process clay, he would have had an easier and more effective time applying the clay layers.

I think every gardener should do bonsai and vice versa.
The information compliments each other so well, both endeavors should become exponentially easier practicing both.
Pottery and Clay fit into this scenario as well. Everything does actually.

Sometimes I feel some kinda special for this ability that is gathering information. Cross training. Gleaning. The truth is, it's not special, it's overly simple. Everything is cyclical and the cycle is always the same. Everything!
I just happen to be familiar with many cycles and care to be open with an intimate understanding of my own.

There are cycles inside of cycles inside of cycles which all have their intricacies which makes everything seem so complicated, but when you strip it all down it's the same 1234.

......

Looks like one glaze. If it is 2 it is 2 fully dipped layers but I doubt it. The truth may be found on the foot.

I found this neat little bowl at goodwill today. Can anyone mimic this design and glaze on a pot? I’d love to have a few pots made very similar to this.
You run across this carved look in Japanese bonsai pots. Here's one:

If you don't understand something do you ask and WAIT for someone to tell you or do you figure it out on your own with a simple search on Google?

Doing a simple search with these words.... "What are pottery cones" you would have your answer.

I don't understand, you put the effort to type your post to complain why potters here use Cone as a reference towards temperature and time.......maybe you should have put the effort to figure out what Cones are.

Nice looking pots! I think the carving\texture part will be easier than finding the exact glaze. You can definitely get really close. Here’s a few links although the sheen is a bit different. I’ve bought some glazes from this company before. The first two links are close colors although not exact and the gloss slightly off. The last one is a link if you want to search for a closer color/gloss match. Just click on the cone you or whoever is going to do it is going to use. Hope you find everything and best of luck !!

Thank everyone for their input. I had a sneaking suspicion that there was copper involved. I guess the first step is either find a potter willing to experiment or find an appropriate clay body and experiment myself.

The clay is the easy part, matching the glaze is the hard part.

Looks like Granatelli.
Good call! Also….. not bad for a $.53 goodwill find 😁 I have sent her a message on Instagram, I may see is she will share some glaze secrets 🤔

Since you are in NC, there are at least two manufacturers have dealt with and probably others as well. You could try Starworks or Highwater.

its a cone 10 glaze but it will work in mid fire too. You can tell by looking at the recipe. Try it with barium if you want it bluer.
