Brightside Bonsai Pots

Oh man, that crackle glaze is to die for! 😍
It needs to go on thick. I had forgot and made these pots with crisp angles and edges. The thick glaze really does away with that detail so I didn’t apply as thick as I should to get the snowflake pattern. Am still pleased with the crazing though.

I can whoop you up a batch if you’d like! Would love to see it on one of your pots with that dark clay. When it’s applied thick it is no longer transparent.

I am in love with this one. Very nice work!

Thank you! I almost scrapped the pot because it warped when drying. Hard to do though once time was spent. But I did my best to fix it. It actually warped back into place once fired lol!

Wanted to share some pots from my last two firings.

I really like the use of these two glazes in combination.

This was an experiment on this larger oval. It reminds me of a tree line on a foggy morning.

Did some of these little small pots with a glaze formulation known as snowflake crackle among other names. It is my favorite one. I didn’t quite apply it as thick as I should of but I still am happy with the outcome.

Love the first pot. What are the dimensions of that one?

Sweet! Just curious what is the difference between stoneware and ceramic?
Stoneware is just a type of ceramic. It’s complicated getting into the chemistry. In general you need to hit higher temps than earthenware (low fire) clay bodies to get the vitrification required to make the ceramic harder and less porous.
