Bougie !!!

Back in the Philippines, I recall having lots of bougies and most usually have die back...maybe because we really limit the water to induce flowering? I remember that those in ground neither have as much die back nor bloom nearly as much as the potted plants.

Is the same observed in bonsai?
 
Stacy, nice wood on that tree. I usually see bougies in glazed pots, what made you choose an unglazed one? No criticism, just interested.

Yes they do...usually before they bloom. At least that is how they behave in the Philippines (a tropical place) when watering is restricted. (see my post above)

BTW, most of what you see are actually modified leaves. The flowers are usually tiny white ones in the middle of it.

Oh yea, can't wait to see it again restyled and carved.

I like the new angle and the the slanted crown. :cool:
