I rescued this bougie from one of my friends. I t was half dead and I brought it back to life… but I don’t really know which branch to cut… the lowest branch sticks straight out from the front of the tree and there’s also another one in the back. Any suggestions? I wanted to leave the bottom branch because my thinking is that it would probably help the main trunk thicken but that could be a pipe dream. Only problem is that it’s completely in the way. Whatcha all think? I know the pot is horrid but only one I had at the time.

Vines thicken from growing long and unrestricted, so I don't think a sacrifice will work to thicken the main trunk like most deciduous trees. I'm dealing with similar questions on my own bougies.

Yea I didn’t think so.. if I cut it, if when I cut it, should I cut it super close? Like right up against the trunk?
