Bonsai and Cigars

Kidding aside...smoke, especially nicotine laden is possibly a good pesticide.

I remember folks back home used to blow cigar smoke in their fighting roosters (yes they do cock fights there) to prevent insect infestation (lice I believe). My old termite control company also use nicotine when treating my house back in San Antonio.

I do not advocate smoking (I hate it actually) just pointing possible benefit for trees.

Much appreciated. I know a lot of people who smoke on the golf course for the very same reason - insect repellent. Or that's the excuse they use anyway.

Just wondered if there were negative effects to go along with this accidental positive, so thanks everyone for setting my mind at ease.
