On the scale that this forum reaches Bend is definitely within my outreach area. I have some friends there (non-bonsai) and I love to get out that way for some rockhounding and junipers. Planning some field trips for the Cascade Bonsai Society for suiseki and substrates, lodgepole pines and junipers. A bnut local would be a definite boon and I personally would love to meet a fellow nutter.

I have been doing bonsai in Bend for 50 years. Stu

That's where I grew up! I've got friends and family there, still. I visit frequently.

I've somewhat gotten my dad into the hobby, as he's been a grower his whole life. We're beginners with Bonsai, no doubt.

I hear there's a fairly tight knit group that used to go by "beers 'n' bonsai", not sure if it still does. I've met a couple members through local classes at nurseries. They're great! I think this is their Facebook page. I also think someone mentioned the group previously.
