Beginner with Japanese Maple troubles

How is this plant doing? I had mildew on my birch, i used some natural spices stuff (really bad smell) but it worked!

I treated with diluted copper sulfate solution but it didn't seem to resolve the issue. The leaves seemed to shrivel up lightly then fall off as November came so time will tell I guess : l

Currently it's hanging out in my fridge at ~34, 35 degrees as I wasn't sure I could provide adequate winter protection.

Modern refrigerators have a defrost cycle that will desiccate your tree if it isn't wrapped in polyethylene with an enclosed humidity source (like damp sphagnum, a damp towel, etc).

Trying to think of the member here who didn't have success with refrigerator wintering...anyone remember?

Not sure about the process of success. But some have succee. Assumed more went into it.

Here is mention of it... @MACH5 any additional information?
