Azalea Picture Identification Thread

'Suisen' cutting that I moved inside to bloom earlier. Now, I have the pollen and I can make crosses with earlier blooming red azaleas.

Cutting in question has a bunch of white flowers, and already some red. So good potential for a nice balance down the road.

My picture seems really washed out compared to DSD's picture. It is a Joe Klimavicz hybrid. The way it is filled is pretty great. It also has some colour variation with some slightly darker patches.
I bet it makes for a great landscape plant, if you have like a pillow of these petals in your garden.

Nice Charles! Awesome color on yours.

I just recieved mine before the winter and it had some issues at the tail end in the greenhouse. This year I root washed it to set up the nebari. It was a close run thing as the roots were fewer then usual. Now it’s all about getting it growing so It will push some back buds and let me reduce the branching so it’s not so lanky.

'Everlasting Ella' Klimavicz hybrid:


It also likes to produce these jewel border/fukurin flowers:


My cuttings are either white with stripes, or full fukurin. The final stage is all purple flowers with a darker blotch.
Notice the strong blotch either that is yellowish green of dark purple. Flowers are pointy but ruffled.
These are fully hardy, but have a lot of Belgian Indica blood.

Suuuuper tempted but I’m overrun with seedlings and rooted cuttings of various non bonsai things at the moment. Maybe further into the summer once I have offloaded and have the space. Or if you’re all out of cuttings by then I’ll just catch the next lot

Can't say with certainty. I would be surprised if I have then sold & given all away. I don't really advertise them as 'for sale' a lot. But I kind of need to offload a few.
I am kind of introducing this variety to Europe. Ideally they go to azalea & gardening enthusiasts in the EU, so they can grow nice and big.
They will make for a nice shrub in front of a Japanese maple for sure.
I don't plant to have a steady production line for Klimavicz azaleas.
