Coming along nicely! Funny here at the new house the humidity is VERY low and the Wife asked me if we could setup a 40 high we have in the room with the tortoise and tropicals... It will have to wait a bit as still in renovation but looking forward to it honest.

Thanks! This light is crazy cool. It's got a number of settings, like sunrise, cloud cover, and even a thunderstorm mode. Pretty fancy.
Woops! Here's the link to that light:

Here's my tank after changing out the log last week. I plan on adding my frogs tomorrow:
Here's my new and improved tank! I added a glass top and a new Current LED light:
I currently have 5 tanks.
6 gallon planted, 2 -20 gallon, a 30 long and a 75. I guess I have a 5 gallon too but it’s just plants.
In my 20s I have breeding guppies.
if I was going to set up a display 20 gallon I would probably do 9- 11 ember tetras, 6 panda cories and some painted fire shrimp, maybe 3 ottos or a couple of nerite snails for algae.
here’s my 6 gallon.View attachment 343125

Our 75 gal is Malawi African Cichlids. 20 may be small for most cichlids, but some Mbunas stay small, and they’re colorful and active.
I've got a 75g with Malawi African cichlids too! Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend them for a tank less than 3 feet long - and even then only the smaller and docile ones. Our 75 gal is Malawi African Cichlids. 20 may be small for most cichlids, but some Mbunas stay small, and they’re colorful and active.
Cheers for that, I did have a look at Rams earlier, those shell dwellers could be a goer too.Shell dwellers from lake tanganyika. If you give them some shells, they will start breeding - pretty fun to watch the little babies hiding in the shells, dart out for food, then back in.
Blue ram cichlids from south america. These apparently do well in a planted tank.
Just keep in mind that some fish won't work well together - either due to preferred water conditions or temperament. I don't know enough about any of the species that you mentioned to give you more specific advice than that...but it sounds like you all are doing some researchCheers for that, I did have a look at Rams earlier, those shell dwellers could be a goer too.
To be fair I have a list of fish I'd like, things like the Rainbow fish Melanotaenia, Chilatherina and Glossolepis. Hypseleotris, Blue Eyes and Threadfin Rainbows plus a few others but I really want everyone to have their say and maybe we all get to pick one species each so as much as I'd like to set it up for me I may only get to choose one.
We can use the time while it's cycling so the kids can research the fish and understand why some are more suitable than others, hopefully I can at least guide them a little.
